Au cœur des temples millénaires de l'Orissa, le Seigneur Krishna ne cesse de se réincarner dans l’art acrobatique des enfants danseurs Gotipuas (goti signifie « seul » et pua, «garçon »). Féérie de la ritualité, les corps divinisés des jeunes danseurs Gotipuas se contorsionnent et composent de véritables pyramides humaines évoquant de manière antique quelques tableaux mythiques. Le corps, pour mieux approcher Dieu, peut en effet se féminiser. Ainsi, depuis le XVIe siècle, ces jeunes garçons portent dans leur danse la nature androgyne de la divinité.
